The interview with Heather Derr-Smith is up. This book was a really treat to read, and Heather was a wonderful person to talk about poetry about. Please take a look at it, and enjoy Barn Owl Review 2 along with the crossword which I hope people are enjoying. Here's a picture since I always post pictures:

Dark Was The Night
The National, one of my favorite bands, has produced Dark Was the Night an album featuring great music from over 30 different artist. The album profits will benefit Red Hot which was founded on the premise that even without a cure, AIDS remains a preventable disease - using music as a great vehicle to raise both money and awareness for it. Please if you are a fan of The National, good music, believe in causes, or want to help people go BUY this CD, don't download it for free. I don't think you will regret it.

The City That Sleeps for a Little Bit
Here is AWP and my trip to Chicago in no certain order. I took a lot of pictures, meet a lot of really great people, drank a lot of really great beer, sold a lot of Barn Owl Reviews, went to some really great panels, saw the best reading of my life, bought a lot of really great books, told people about the crossword in the new issue about a 1000 times, hung out with some of my best friends that I don't see very often, slept maybe 8 hours over the course of 4 days, and LOVED EVER MINUTE of the trip. AWP 09 was great fun.

Yes We Did
I'm ready for this piece of history! 1/20/2009 will be a day that I remember for the rest of my life. I have been counting the days until Bush since 2004, but I'm more than excited for President Obama.

Pictures of winter
At 2 in the morning on Saturday, I was getting a drink of water and I saw how the snow was falling. So I took my camera outside and took some pictures. It was my idea of a perfect moment, when you can't hear anything except for the snow being crushed down under your feet, your thoughts make perfect sense. It was a moment where I felt I could side outside of myself. These moments are what make me want to stay in this area, you can't have moments like this outside of winter.
I love the way these trees looked with the snow on them blowing in the wind.
This is my favorite picture I've taken in a while because you can see the snow falling, and the snow on the ground has not been disturbed yet.
These three pictures were from last weekend when the landscapers cut down perfectly healthy trees. Or just cut off all their branches. I was very upset, and wanted to say something nasty to them about what they were doing. But instead I post these pictures and keep the four letter words to myself.
